Car Cruiser Carissima

Hi,

We have been looking to find a home for a caravan
we 'inherited' when we moved into our house. We
are not a caravanning family, but we would like
to find a home for the caravan rather than have
to dispose of it via the angle grinder route.

The caravan is a Carissima Car Cruiser, hence my
e-mail to you and your club.

It is old, possibly early 60's. Apparently it has
toured all over Europe. It currently looks a bit
sorry for itself externally, as it has not been
moved since the late eighties. It has flat tyres
and I would imagine the axle has seized. It would
need trailer transportation. That said, it is
original inside and is watertight. The wooden
floor, needs some attention, near the door. It is
currently used by us for storage, but we would
like to build a garden patio area. It is made by
OG Lywood Ltd Cambs.

The details on the a frame at the front read;

H 7.7
L 13.5
w 6.4

Body No 64
Model 10.2

Would any of your club members like it? It
obviously needs work, either as a restoration
project or use for parts. Please let us know. We
are in Epsom, Surrey. Happy for someone to come
and look if interested.

AGM

This years AGM was held at Hallaton in
Leicestershire.

A great weekend was had by all who attended,
although only 8 vans could make it. The AGM was
followed by a Faith Supper which was a great
success.
on the Sunday a number of the club went to the
local pub for Sunday lunch, which was enjoyed by
all. The afternoon we were entertained with a
Cricket match on the field follwoed by live
entertainment and a BBQ for those who wished to
join in.

Carissima for free.

Hi David,

Hope you are well. At a rally a couple of weeks
ago a chap offered several of us there a
Carissima for free. We seriously considered it
but have no space.

He wanted rid of it as he kept it on the roadside
and it had been vandalised. The damage as I
understand it is broken windows (which have now
been boarded up) and some panel damage where
vandals had kicked it.

He would prefer it to go to someone who could
restore it rather than let the council tow it
away and crush it, which they are threatening to
do if he doesn't shift it.

Please pass this on to anyone you think may be
interested.
Please contact David at
car.cruiser@btinternet.com for cntact details.

One off special Car Cruiser (in need of a loving home and some TLC)

In the photos there is a funny looking Caravan
for sale. This is a 3/4 size special made from
parts left over when OG Lywood ceased traiding in
the mid 1960's before Cooper Coachworks took over
production.
This is now sadly in need of a loving home to
goto where it can be returned to its former
glory.
More information is available from David.
